Web-Enabled Automation or Die!

摘要

This paper describes the Web-enabling solutions that provide full connectivity from Business-to-Business to Business-to-Equipment/Device, with the goal to link manufacturing, business systems, and supply chain all together. A major requirement of full e-commerce automation is the ability to trigger all kind of applications for all kind of systems and manage this complex collaboration process right on the Internet. The Web Enabling technology will be discussed and assessed in the context of how each manufacturing organization can truly cooperate within the virtual world of people and equipment, under the most efficient way. Integration of many automation islands in the factory floor and the corresponding business plus finance systems will be presented. The latest and greatest state-of-the-art technology that support these revolutionized Web Enabling applications ( based on the emerging of Web Services, Distributed Agent technology, Mobile Services (Wireless), etc.) will be studied. In concluding of this paper, a practical application of e-Diagnostics, e-prognosis, and e-field services will be described to prove the viability of Web enabling technology to support the transforming of the factory automation world of the semiconductor industry.
