Photovoltaic devices, both Schottky-type and pn-heterojunction devices, using several novel organic materials were fabricated and their performance examiend. The materials studied include electrochemically doped non-conjugated polymers containing pendant pi-electron systems, oligothiophenes with well-defined structures, titanyl phthalocyanine, and amorphous molecular materials. Structure-property relationship and the effect of the materials' morphology on the performance are discussed.
