摘要

The Complete modification of Methylcellulose-A with Glutaric Anhydride was performed and the release of drugs has been evaluated from this modified polymer. This modification of methylcellulose-A offers a new hydrocolloidal matrix base that results a linear drug release profile for theophylline and a first-order prolonged drug release profile for acetaminophen. The mechanism of the release and its relevance with the chemical nature of the drug has been discussed.
