Flexible academic models in higher education have been developed through years, shaping study systems that let students to construct their academic paths. This flexibility includes distance learning programs, customized academic schedules, student-centered subjects selection, flexible academic periods, and non-scheduled examination. The information complexity, in treatment and use, around these academic options, by students and related resources, requires an information system model with a higher reusability level, by its functional structure and conceptual nature. The second statement justifies the object-oriented modeling, then model element definition and relationships, presented in this paper, provide a structural flexibility that covers traditional and non traditional academic schemas. Additionally, a general model is presented to transport the academic schema to business context, where learning processes present significant similarities.
