Using a Wrench to Pound in a Screw: The Misapplication of Communication Technologies in Education

This short paper illustrates a framework for examining the application, and misapplication, of media types and contexts in educational settings. It illustrates a relationship between form, format and function that is useful in determining the effectiveness of new media technologies in educational contexts.
