Helicopter Active Noise and Vibration Control Using Active Transmission Mounts

Active Transmission Mount technology developed under DARPA/NRL project demonstrated significant vibration and noise reductions on a ground test on an S-76 aircraft: 1. 25dB reduction in cabin vibration levels 2. 13dB reduction in cabin noise levels (1) These reductions provide significant rotorcraft benefits: 1. DMC savings ($3.3M/aircraft over 10,000hr H-60 lifetime). 2. Potential crew and mission performance improvements.
