The progress on photo-physics and photo-chemistry of photosynthesis in crops was summarized. A new model plant Spirulina which has high photosynthesis efficiency (18~24%) and high proteins (60~70%) was presented, aimed at the problem of low photosynthesis efficiency (1~5%) complex protein synthesis system and low contents (10%, except to 35% in legume). Moreover, The preliminary results of cell uitrastructure, and kinds, components and mechanism of energy transfering were introduced. To increase products and quality of crops, to develop chemical photosynthesis imitation and to solve the global problems such as more population vs. less lands, shortcoming of foods and good protein sources and etc.. It was remarkably significant to further elucidate the mechanism of high photosynthesis efficiency and high proteins in Spirulina, with modern optical and electronic technology and instruments.
