Inter-Stakeholder Behavior Analysis and Design Engineering

摘要

Systems Engineering encounters situations where stakeholders disagree. Disagreement shows itself both in the form of different claims and through particular human interaction patterns. In situations of strong disagreement, systems engineers can benefit from social science methods. This paper presents such an approach that combines elements of cultural anthroplogy, family systems therapy, and systems engineering. It is intended to be used to document stakeholder behavior in a more rigorous and defensible manner and to point toward additional technical information that can benefit the systems engineering effort. Knowledge of stakeholder interaction patterns can also enable engineers to form better questions during requirements inquiry and can lead to a healther overall team environment.
