Elastic properties of high-flow ability lightweight concrete

One kind of cold-bonded fly-ash lightweight aggregate and three kinds of sintered shale lightweight aggregate were used to produce the high-workability concrete. Experimental results show that these four kinds of lightweight concrete have the slump above 280 mm, the flowability above 680 mm, and the 28-day compressive strength of cylindrical specimen ranging from 28.6 to 55.7 Mpa. The values of dynamic and static moduli of elasticity depend on the properties of lightweight aggregate, ranging from 19.0 to 27.8 GPa and 13.8 to 20.2 GPa, respectively. The values of of Poisson's ratio were in the range of 0.14 to 0.16, and were not significantly affected by the increase of concrete age.
