Field and ESD risk from charged object introduction into hard drives

摘要

Various considerations require the inclusion of non-ESD-safe materials in drives. This paper presents theoretical methods of evaluating the risk of placing charged bodies (dielectric, dissipative, conductive) into a hard drive. A considerable voltage suppression effect results from the presence of the hard drive baseplate.
