The influence of cloud and aerosol proceses on the oxidation capacity of the gas-phase troposphere is still not well established.The aqueus particle phase may change the oxidation cpaaciyt by either uptake of radiclas (lowering hte gas phase oxidation capacity) or by heterogeneous loss of reactive trace gases (thus enhancing the gas phase oxidation capacity).THe inetis of the degradation of aldehydes in hte tropospheric aqueous phase with secondary radical oxidants like NO_3. is currently not well established.
