Abstract: Close range photogrammetry for industrial applicationsis a demanding field of research. There are severalgroups in the world working towards a measuring systemfor quality control applications. Industrialists haverealized that a picture is worth than one thousandmeasures and nowadays more and more off the shelfsystems can be found in industrial facilities. Howevera fully automated vision-base 3D measurement robot is acomplex system containing many components whichconstrain one another. Problems like solving theepipolar geometry in a non-structured environment, especially in real time applications, is still a veryhard task. In this article a new laser system whichsolves the problems of correspondence and occlusions ispresented. This laser scanner generates dynamically agrid of a large amount of lines. The projection linesare measured with subpixel precision with a binocularstereo mount. A very fast algorithm for detecting theintersection of lines with subpixel accuracy isdescribed. Furthermore an interesting way for solvingthe correspondences between the two images isexplained. Based on the fact that correspondencebetween the camera is solved, autocalibration can beperformed on line.!30
