A new approach to atmospheric flight mechanics education

A new education system of atmospheric flight mechanics is proposed. ^In the system, we propose a flying object as a medium of education. ^It is a simple object that flies in wind and is constrained by a stag like a kite. ^However, it has a wing and a tail like an airplane, so its flight characteristics can be explained theoretically by making use of a modified theory of atmospheric flight mechanics that we have developed. ^In addition to the theory, we have developed CAD that bridges a gap between theory and experiment. ^Referring to the theory that they have learned during a lecture, students can acquire, during an experiment, a practical knowledge of the sophisticated mechanics of aircraft, the planforms of which have been created in the design and production process. ^(Author)
