Software for teaching parameter estimation technique using MMLE

摘要

The Method of Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MMLE)-based parameter estimation technique has been a workhorse for many years in system identification. ^This paper describes USEME (USEr friendly MMLE), an implementation of MMLE in FORTRAN with an MS-Windows-based user-friendly front end. ^This generalized software is designed to help analyze with ease and efficiency a range of systems, from a simple spring mass damper system to complex systems like aircraft, missile, or launch vehicles. ^This has been found to be very effective in the research level course offered at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. ^(Author)
