In this paper, we describe a design of Frame Relay Bearer Service (FRBS) interworking in frame relay network access subsystem(FNAS) of the advanced information communication processing system(AICPS) with frame relay network. Nationwide advanced information communication processing system (AICPS), as a network node, links various user terminals, over ordinary public switched telephone network (PSTN), to information providers (IPs). IPs are connected to the public switched data network (PSDN) to provide the value added network (VAN) services to the subscribers. Through the AICPS systems, subscribers can easily get information services using only modems without any extra devices. The AICPS system has been promoting a more information-oriented society in Korea. The function of AICPS systems provides interconnection among various heterogeneous access networks and value-added information service to subscribers. The main goal of AICPS system is to construct the information infrastructure for open computing services that can support heterogeneous network connections and its value-added communications The FNAS links users which has various kinds of traffic attribute over PSTN with Internet service providers(ISPs), Q.922-control or X.25 host computer connected to the frame relay network. And FNAS plays a role of a communication router or interworking function for the protocol encapsulation services. This system mainly consists of three parts, a frame relay network interface board(FNIB), a frame relay service processing board(FSPB) and high-speed network adapter board(HSNB).
