Summary form only given, substantially as follows. This paperdiscusses the emergent organizations of multiple agents for taskprocessing problems. Especially, we focus on the properties ofpersistence influencing the organizing ability. As such a type oforganizing problem, we introduce the multiple monkey banana problem. Theproblem is posed as the modification of the original monkey bananaproblem. Each monkey as an agent tries to ride on the other monkeys totake the above banana, Namely, the agents have to build theorganizations. Obviously, the agents have to solve the problem tightlycoupled each other. The agents meet several inappropriate situationsthat include deadlock states. Thus the agents may need not only tobehave autonomously according to the sensing of the environment butalso, we suppose, to possess the persistence for getting the chances toescape inappropriate situations. To realize the persistence in theaction selection mechanism, we investigate the fatigue parameters in thebehavior network. Owing to the keeping of memorized inputs, theactivities in the nodes are expected to keep persistence. This basicmechanism is embedded in the proposed hierarchical behavior network.Under the introduced problem, we show the effects of the fatigueparameters concerned on the persistence of the emergent organizationalbehaviors
