The paper presents a mathematical model and a semi-analytical procedure to control the wind induced vibrations for single electrical conductor.An analytical expression of the wind energy is proposed in this paper, utilizing the experimental data.The method of aeolian vibration control is based on the energy balance principle that takes into account the wind energy input, the energy dissipated by the conductor with self damping properties and the energy dissipated by the Stockbridge dampers which are used for mitigation the vibration level of overhead line conductors.This method can be used to establish whether or not is necessary to equip the conductor by Stockbridge dampers, a suitable type of dampers, their number and optimum spacing on the conductor. Any applications are also included.
