Fault injection and fault modeling for a safety critical automotive communication system

Today by-wire systems are well-known and utilised in the area of aircraft constructuion. In the last few years there is an endeavour in the automaotive inudstry to realise by-wire applications without mechanical or hydraulic backup systems in vehicles. The equired electronic systems must be highly reliable and cost-effecive due to the constraints of mass production.
