Surface modification of biomaterials has proved beneficial in the prevention of protein adsorption and platelet activation. Many polymers have been investigated for their anti-thrombogenic properties, some of these polymers are poly(ethylene oxide-co-propylene oxide), poly(vinyl acetate) (PVA) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG).
