摘要

A novel optical fibre-based sensing scheme for conducting simultaneous strain and tem,perature measurents is discussed, using an extrinsic Fabry-Perot interfereometric (EFPIO strain sensor coupled to a rate-earth doped fibre flouorescence decay-time based temperature sensor embedded in a carbon fibre reinforced composite system. Results illustrating the sensor system performance are presented and evaluated.
