A curl antenna fed from a coaxial line has been proposed as a radiation element of circular polarization [1]. The curl antenna consists of vertical, horizontal linear sections, and a curled section. This paper presents the effects of the horizontal linear section on the radiation characteristics. The radiation characteristics for higher-order operation modes [2] of the curl antenna are also discussed.
