摘要

As a result of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, a large part of Ukraine was radioactively contaminated. The spectrometric, radiometric and radiochemical methods now available make it possible to determine with reasonable accuracy the density of soil surface contamination with radionuclides for the purpose of evaluating the radiation situation in the affected areas. The impact of contamination of a region on the human body can be determined by evaluating the radiation burdens on the basis of the experimental data for the density of soil surface contamination with radionuclides.
