The paper shows how the use of an object formalism enriches and validates the procedure for domain modelling. Use of the object-oriented approach is wholly recommended. Having defined the meaning of the fuzzy context to be modelled, the authors present various stages of an experimental object-modelling methodology. These stages lead to the initial definition of the domain vocabulary so that functional rules of the system can be developed, via identification of the various possible states. The authors present their experiences with this type of modelling, showing how this formalism allows, in a simultaneous procedure, definition of the domain and progressive correction of understanding during its modelling, without going back to the beginning.
