Bits, bytes, and nibbles-programmable controllers and their communication with host computers

Discusses several ways in which programmable controllers and computers transfer information. Specifically, the methods of accomplishing this transfer between a programmable controller and a desktop personal computer are described. The hardware, software, and communication protocol required to make the system work are considered.
