In this paper, an input-series output-parallel isolated DC-DC converter is proposed for MVDC applications. This structure is based on 5-level modified T-type converter in both primary and secondary sides of high frequency transformer. By using a 5-level converter, better voltage and current waveforms can be obtained in the primary and secondary sides of the transformer which will decrease the filter size. Medium-voltage silicon carbide MOSFETs are used as switches. The proposed structure is modular and uses the same submodules in higher and lower voltage sides. The operation of the proposed structure is verified by simulations carried in PLECS.
