Reflections on Data Visualization Design by Professionals in the Tourism Field

To extract information and knowledge of the large amounts of data generated nowadays is a need that has been challenging researchers from several fields such as computing, communication, health and applied social sciences. In the context of tourism data in Brazil, from a specific scenario, we noticed that the field's professionals don't use techniques and tools for processing and presenting data collected by them, which may be compromising the extraction of relevant information and knowledge of these data. In order to support these professionals in the reflection on the data and in planning the best way to present them to their target audience, a study was carried out with turismologists, using a customizable visualization model, intended for the planning of interactive narrative views of data. The template allowed these professionals a new way of planning the presentation of their data, as well as knowledge of computer terms and techniques that may be appropriated by them in their data analysis context.
