This paper studies transmission characteristics of low-frequency (LF) electromagnetic wave on penetrating into the stratum, and carries out research and design over Intrinsic-safe Through-the-earth Radio Communication System Technology with Large depth. Its creativity is divided into free space transmission and transmission loss over stratum medium, which lays the foundation for the design of Intrinsicsafe Radio Through-the-earth Communication System Technology with Large depth. It adopts magnetic antenna with high-sensitivity, MSK modulation and error-corrective encoding technique, suppression over complicated underground EMI, and proved to be successful in dualdirection underground communication with large depth through actual test and trial in mine shaft, which can serve as crucial communication means for safety in coal production and disaster relief.
