Cooperative Reuse of fragmented Spectrum in High-Voltage Power-Line Carrier Systems - A new Approach of PowerLink IP

Based on the traditional approach of frequency planning in high-voltage power-line carrier (HV PLC) systems, this paper introduces a new method of cooperative reuse of a fragmented spectrum in HV PLC systems allowing a high degree of fairness in frequency reuse by neighboring network cells. The main objective of the method is to increase the data throughput by utilizing frequency resources that cannot be used by the neighboring network cells in traditional systems. An additional intercellular communication via medium access request channels was proposed for that reason.
