摘要

The unique properties of metamaterial will drive the future of scientific development and innovations. Smart properties of Metamaterials is to achieve benefits which can't be achieved by conventional materials. Metamaterials are artificial periodic structures with the negative refractive index. The principle of operation of metamaterials is based on diffraction. Metamaterials offer wide-angle scanning and excellent beam performance from the antenna. It consumes small power and can be realized in planar components. Also, metamaterials didn't require active phase shifters or amplifiers and have electronically controlled polarization property. This paper addresses a detailed review study about metamaterials which will deliver an insight technical idea and applications of metamaterials in various domains.
