This paper considers the problem of carrier synchronization in burst communication. We propose a low-complexity joint time-frequency estimation method to overcome the shortages of traditional time-domain and frequency-domain estimation algorithm. Based on Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and autocorrelation operation, the proposed algorithm can achieve wide-range and high-precision frequency offset estimation under low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and reduce computational complexity. In addition, we provide a method to calculate the number of FFT points, which can effectively reduce the computational cost of the proposed algorithm while ensuring the estimation performance. The numerical results illustrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the classical time-domain and frequency-domain frequency estimation algorithms.
