Typical required factors of various performances aims at daily safety and comfortableness of floor covering on concrete groundwork are floor hardness and foot touching during walking, floor hardness of falling down collision, floor impact sound blocking property, runnability of caster or wheelchair. Deformation characteristics of floor in vertical direction are the most effective on these factors in common. The evaluation methods for each performance have been clarified, however methods are not included in deformation characteristics as systematize. Because deformation characteristics are changed dynamically by floor materials and construction methods. This research aims a quantify investigation of the relationship various performance and deformation characteristics and provide guide-points of floor development have performances balance of floor. In this paper, we focused on floor covering on concrete groundwork which is widely used in Japanese residence. Because the performances of floor covering on concrete groundwork are reflected in deformation characteristics of finishing materials. First of all, 63 floor coverings which have various deformation characteristics were selected, and sample floors were made by sticking these on rigid concrete groundwork. For these samples, we measured various performance value by each method established in JIS (Japan Industrial Standards) or in past research. At second, a device which can measure deformation characteristics was developed. This device can load statically because this should be as simple as possible. Using the static measuring device, deformation characteristics of samples were measured. Then, we investigated relationships between the results and performance value about each performance. As a result, it has been clarified that deformation of specific position of specific load region influences each performance. Finally, we comprehended the relationship between performance values and deformation characteristics about each performance for floor covering on concrete groundwork in this research.
