The work presented here concerns the estimation of the isolation to airborne noise based on the calculation of the single-number quantity D_(nT, W) + C resulting from the ISO 717-1 standard. More specifically, the difference between the single-number quantity estimated from the octave data and the single-number quantity derived from the third-octave data is studied here. In theory, this difference should be equal to zero. Several methods of measurement of airborne sound insulation and several adaptation terms C are studied here. Moreover, in order to work on a wide range of values of the single-number quantity, different measurement sites are considered. The objective is to find from a statistical analysis if there is an adaptation term C associated with a specific method of measurement which can allow to obtain the theoretical zero deviation.
