Railway system technology worldwide has focused on speed-up system, and Korea has developed its own rolling stock running over 400km/h speed; this, however, causes environmental noise as well as noise inside the vehicle. In particular, the driver working in the cab is exposed to high noise levels for an extended period of time, which may cause hearing damage. Nevertheless, the means to mitigate interior noise have significantly lagged behind in comparison to other noise reduction efforts. In this study, we have conducted experimental verification on efficiency of noise reduction emitted interior noise from railway driver's cab using active noise control technology. Firstly, After recording the noise using binaural recording device generated in the driver's cab while a train is running and then we had made arrangements for laboratory system using space form palyback speakers to design similar sound environment with railway cab, and then we carried out the active noise control test to create a quiet zone around the driver's face by installing the secondary speakers to the headrest of actual driver's seat. Through the experimental results, we verify if it was appropriate as a method to reduce interior noise in the driver's cabin.
