The sound absorption performance of the external intubation Helmholtz resonance structure was investigated. The external intubation method effectively reduces the panel thickness of the Helmholtz resonator. Finite element simulation was used to calculate the sound absorption coefficient of the structure. For the external intubation Helmholtz resonance structure, the calculation results of the two theoretical models of Helmholtz resonator were compared with the finite element simulation. The results show that the two theoretical models were suitable for the calculation of external intubation Helmholtz resonator. The acoustic impedance of the external intubation structure is only slightly different from the Helmholtz resonator of the same size. The multi-external intubation Helmholtz resonator was studied to achieve broadband sound absorption.
