In summary, the use of silk proteins, conducting polymers and the benchtop protein lithography process can be used to fabricate components for bioelectronics as well as flexible devices including cell substrates. These devices are fully organic, mechanically robust, functional and controllably degradable. Utility of these elements as biosensors, opto-electronic devices and flexible energy storage systems are envisioned.
