Comparison of entropy loading and bit loading in short-reach optical links

摘要

We show the system performance comparison between the entropy-loading (EL) and bit-loading in multicarrier short-reach optical links where the responses of the low-cost optoelectronic components are less than ideal. We show that EL could be critical for short-reach interconnects to squeeze out the last few bits from the bandwidth-constrained systems.
