COMPARATIVE STUDY OF LEADERSHIP BETWEEN CIVILIAN ENGINEERS AND MILITARY ENGINEERS

This paper is a comparative study of leadership between civilian engineers, military engineers and engineers with military experience. The literature research wasn't conclusive in the search for such comparison. From material already studied on leadership, leadership qualities from the literature review were used to create a comparison between a leader and a manager, and the qualities and characteristics of a leader. A survey was developed and sent electronically to civilian engineers, military engineers and engineers with military experience. There was a comparison made between civilian engineers and engineers with military experience. The engineers with military experience did show a slightly measurable confidence in their leadership skills and characteristics. The comparison was an average rating from one to five through a point scale.
