A decompression model applied with one-dimensional energy flow equation is developed for solving effective flow area problem in the pressurized cabin of civil aircraft during the emergency descent. We consider an ISA altitude and local static environmental pressure. We have a parametric investigation on the flow schedule and aircraft weight in an emergency descent, illustrating the effects of effective flow area, flow schedule and aircraft weight in emergency descent on cabin pressure altitude and ambient pressure altitude. Results show that the aircraft weight at the beginning of emergency descent has an important influence on the time when cabin altitude exceeds 25,000 ft. and the maximum effective flow area.
