摘要

Although electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) is the most commonly used technique for quantification of chemical compositions of minerals and other solid materials at small scales, in many cases it must be complemented by further analytical techniques (LA-ICP-MS, ion microprobe, IR- or μ-Raman spectroscopy) to measure light elements, low concentrations of trace elements, isotopic ratios or to distinguish between polymorphs.
