Development and Evaluation of Compression Tester Adapter for Gasoline Engine using Compression Tester of Diesel Engine

摘要

This study was conducted to develop a compression tester adapter for gasoline engine with the used of compression tester for diesel engine and evaluate its functionality. It used an experimental research design. The Null hypothesis of this study which states that there is a significant difference on mean compression between Gasoline engine using gasoline compression tester and the mean compression of Gasoline engine using diesel compression tester with Compression tester adapter since the tester was not made for gasoline engine was rejected since there was no significant difference on overall mean compression between gasoline engine using gasoline compression tester and the overall mean compression of same engine using diesel compression tester with compression tester adapter in all number of tests . For economic purposes, instead of buying other compression tester for gasoline engine, developed compression tester adapter for gasoline engine was of great savings this adapter was attached to the flexible hose of a diesel compression tester so it can be fitted to the plug fitting of a gasoline engine and measures its compression.
