摘要

Study on the impact of penetration of renewable energy sources on power system stability is a present day need. The impact of huge penetration of PV system on transient stability condition of multi-machine power system is discussed in this paper. The application of trajectory sensitivity analysis in estimating the stability of the whole system integrated with solar PV is discussed here. A new index which is based on sensitivity of the terminal voltage of Solar PV farm is proposed that can assess the system stability condition for constant and as well as varying penetration levels. With the help of this index a suitable location for PV in an existing power system may be obtained and also the proposed index indicates the relative stability condition for increase in solar PV power penetration. The study has been done in a WSCC 3-machine 9-bus system in MATLAB platform.
