Enabling Visually Impaired Peoples' Chinese Typing Searching Skills: 2nd Year Results in the Longitudinal Study

Because the plentiful online resources and visualized learning material are not workable for individuals with visual impairment in Chinese societies, they face a variety of challenges when they learn. To address this issue, a cloud -based Visually Impaired People (VIP) E -learning Platform with the course on Chinese typing method has been implemented, and the competition for visual impairment people on typing and information searching online has been organized to facilitate their typing performance. This study aims to examine the course and promotion of the VIP platform through the participants' typing performance in the competition based on their feedback. The data, compared with ones of last year's, show that the number of competition participants and the users of the platform were increased. Moreover, the typing speed of adult group was better than that of the last year's, and the accuracy rate was higher. However, some issues are noted and will be overcome in the near future.
