摘要

Implementing features of Software Defined Networking (SDN) not only adds flexibility and programmability but also enhances performance in the Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET). Controllers of SDN are placed far-off that adds considerable amount of latency when the communication takes place between the Road Side Unit (RSU) or the On-Board Unit (OBU) of vehicle and the controller of SDN. An Architecture is proposed to introduce hierarchical distributions of controllers where the main controller on top tier are distributed over the region and at bottom tier some RSU's are selected as local controllers which keep localized global view of network, where the main controller on the top tier is responsible for operating local controllers at bottom tier and local controllers are responsible for transferring date among RSUs and vehicles.
