This inspection system is based on technology that can simultaneously inspect the damage to a house connection (inspected with a TV camera located on the front face of the apparatus) and the presence of a cavity that lies behind the house connection (inspected by transmission/reception of electromagnetic wave pulses), and the effects of the technology were confirmed by verifying the performance of the inspection system. We firmly believe that this inspection system will greatly help to conduct preventive maintenance for preventing road surface cave-in by discriminating cavities that trigger road surface cave-in arising due to house connections and by replacing house connections in advance. In addition, the results will be useful for persuading road administrators about road surface cave-in due to sewerage.
