摘要

The IGBTs used in hybrid HVDC Circuit Breakers are traditionally cooled down by water circulation system during the course of its operation. The liquid metal based cooling system provides faster heat conduction and thus requires lower circulation speed. However, being an electric conductor, the liquid metal suffers from the complicated electro- magnetic field inside the Circuit Breaker. This greatly limited its application. This paper will provide more details of such realization, and the final cooling results are compared with that of water cooling system.
