This paper investigates the optimization of active distribution network frame with improved particle swarm algorithm. To start with, a mathematical model considering economics and constraints is established to determine the planning schemes for equipment such as lines, substations and distributed generation (DG) in the current distribution network planning. Then, the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to solve the power distribution and determine the best solution for distribution network grid optimization. Based on a case study of a distribution network system, the standard algorithm and the improved algorithm are compared. The results show that the method used to find high quality and meet the economic requirements of the system. The improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is effective to optimize the distribution network.
