Exposures to high levels of vibration in the hand-arm system during the work shift can be harmful to the worker's health. In situation like these, worker's vibration exposure may be reduced by two means: 1) Collective Protective Measures; 2) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). When collective protective measures are not available immediately, PPE should be used to protect workers from harmful risks. In these case, workers must use antivibration gloves to reduce the vibration exposure in the hand-arm system. These gloves are made of materials that reduce the transmission of vibration from equipment to the worker hand. It is important to know the performance of these gloves so that it is possible to make the correct choice for each situation. The standard ISO 10819 describe a method for determining the vibration transmissibility of gloves. This transmissibility is the ratio between the acceleration measured in the palm of the hand and the acceleration measured in the handler and is obtain using a shaker to excite the handler with a standard vibration signal. This paper presents a first attempt to build measurement system according to ISO 10189 and two models of antivibration gloves are measured and their transmissibility are compared to values presented by the manufacturer.
