PLLA-PEG-PLLA was proven a proper material in preparing microspheres with surface roughness via the simple W1/O/W2 double emulsion technique Polydopamine surface modification was able to act as a functional layer to immobize nanosilver and HA. The resulting microspheres were identified biocompatible and non-cytotoxic, moreover, anitbacterial, while able to promote osteogenic differentiation. These results suggested the designed microspheres having s a big chance to be used in treating infective bone defects, with the potential being administrated via injection. .
