DIS technique has shown to produce homogenous nanostructures on porous Ti scaffolds, allowing completely surface modification (planar and inside pores). The irradiation process increases successfully the bioactivity of the surface inducing cell adhesion proliferation, differentiation, and mineralization, key factors to further improve Ti osseointegration. In future research studies, mesenchymal stem cells from bonemarrow (BMMSC) will be evaluate as well as macrophage cytokine expresion.
