Anterior Cruciate Ligament Matrix Inspired by Clinical Application: An In Vivo Assessment

The ACL Double Bundle Graft demonstrated better outcomes than the previous works by Cooper et al. Given the mode of failure, the cause seems to be linked to surgical technique. Gross observation indicated biocompatibility due to the look of a normal knee joint absent of scaring, inflammation, or effusion. uCT analysis signified that injections of BMP-2 into the bone tunnels were not effective in increasing bone regeneration, indicating that a carrier may be necessary to localize BMP-2 in the bone tunnel. Further insight through histological analysis are needed to confirm and further elaborate on the results shown herein.
